  1. Every time I here that speech it gets to me. It makes me feel like I was in that time period, and could actually feel what the slaves were going through. When I hear that speech it feels me with anger and joy. Joy because I get to hear all the good things that could have happend in that time period. Bad because to hear all the bad things, it's frustrating because you hear all the things that slaves had to go through.

  3. I was in day-care while watching this and I cried. Dr. King was such a wonderful person and he always knew exactly what he wanted and how he wanted it done that's why I've always and will always look up to him.

  5. I was so shocked that this was not so long ago that Martin Luther King Jr. made this speech, and that all the racism was still happening only fifty years ago. It was so cruel that whites, even aft er slavery was over, treated black people like scum. It was so saddening that although it was already over a century ago that slavery ended, racism still went on, and black people were treated so unfairly. Also, I was inspired. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great leader, and I will always see him as an amazing role model.

  6. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech made me feel inspired, shocked, and sad. Blacks faced an injustice, and he stood up for them. I think that takes a lot of courage. That's why I think I've always looked at him as my role model.

  7. So sad. I can't believe that whites did that to blacks. I am glad that everyone is treated equal now. I feel awful.

  8. I really liked the MLK speech and wish that I was there. It's really sad, and it's also sad that it wasn't that long ago. I really wish I was there to watch him speak.

  9. I was surpised that this only took place 50 years ago. It is sad how African-Americans were treated. Also, everything was unfair for African-Americans. Dr. King's speech is very inspiring, and he will always be remembered.

  10. As I was watching the speech, Martin Luther King made me feel inspired to help make the change. His words were so strong and powerful that it made me feel even worse about slavery. Good for him to speak up unlike other African Americans who didn't.

  11. I feel very lucky that people are not slaves anymore and all people are mostly treated equally. I also felt bad that other people treated people so terribly and that anyone could just kill an African American. It also made me realize that America has come along a lot since the 1800s. We should make sure that we continue to improve our country.

  12. Some emotions I felt while watching the speech are that I was so outraged by how people were so stupid. How they judge people by their skin and not by the content of their character.

  14. I felt inspired how Martin Luther King Jr. spoke up what he thought about slavery. If I was there at the speech I would feel hopeful to blacks that they would have the same rights as whites do. The blacks still are not treated like whites are treated.

  15. The one thing I cannot believe about this is that this abuse of humans wasn't even that long ago. Martin Luther King, Jr. is like one of the world's great protagonists, but not from a book. He is also my hero and I look up to him as if he was my dad or mom. I can't wait until everyone is treated equal in the world.

  16. It is surprising that when Martin Luther King Jr. gave this speech, it was 1963. One-hundred years after the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 blacks still didn't have equal rights. Dr. King never gave up his fight.

  17. I felt bad at the end of the video that even though Martin Luther King gave that speech, blacks didn’t have equal rights. I also felt happy that Martin Luther King’s speech motivated blacks to fight back non-violently.
